Abalone Shell
(Haliotis), also know as “The Sea Ear" because of its flattened and oval shape; is very durable and used by many ancient cultures for its healing properties. They used shells to burn sage believing that they would help carry their message. It represents a human connection to the ocean, circle of life and protection on a voyage. Is said to enhance feelings of peace, compassion and love; it has a lovely warm, gentle vibration. It is great in times of tough emotional issues, soothing the nerves and encouraging a calm demeanour. It is believed to gently help open our psychic and intuitive connections.

In this Smudging Kit a tripod, a black feather and a bag of black sand are included: the tripod is meant to support the shell, the feather may be used to disperse the smoke wether the sand should be placed into the abalone shell to prevent the sage from staining the inner colouration of the shell itself.
